Years ago, a jail commander gave us the task of designing an institutional-grade table that defined each person's space and hindered the passing of contraband from one individual to another. Our answer was the popular, rugged Slammer Table with its unique "X" base design. Today, the Slammer Table is used in jails and prisons all across the country.

THE PROPER FOUNDATION
The key to the Slammer table is your choice of the "X" style bases. First and still best, is our traditional laminated wood base: 1-1/2" thick 45 lb. density particle board faced with .050" thick high-pressure laminate. It's then edge banded with heavy duty T-molding that's fully glued and steel pinned. You then attach it to an intermediate mounting plate that joins the base to the top with tamper resistant hardware.

THE ECONOMICAL BASE
Rotationally molded from specially formulated fire-retardant, high-impact polyethylene with U.V. stabilizers to reduce fading. Capped openings on the top of the base allow it to be weighted on-site before attaching the top with tamper resistant hardware.

TOPPING IT OFF
Choose a table top with Nu-Stone®, a compression molded fiberglass-filled polyester composite that looks like granite. You get a seamless one-piece top and edge with through and through color for superior impact resistance and surface wearability. Pick from GraniteStone or PebbleStone.

Or, you might prefer a high quality laminate surface with an edge that is pressure fused to the core with a specially formulated, highly durable molded urethane material. The permanently affixed edge has a radius profile for safety and comfort making it exceptional for food service applications.
